The Last of Us: Remastered: “to 60 fps and beyond!”

Some days ago, Naughty Dog’s Corine Yu posted on twitter, that the team was willing to work even weekends to not only achieve 60 FPS for The Last of Us: Remastered Edition, but also go beyond the 60 FPS limit – which will probably compensate for any serious frame drops when the hardware will be heavily charged during furious combat.

Christian Gyrling, the Lead Programmer also added on Naughty Dog’s twitter channel that they were able to locate the bug that was preventing them from achieving their goal and they would continue testing.

And now the development’s team latest tweet is that they’ve finally reached 60 FPS. The tweet, by Kurt Margenau, the studio’s Lead Game Designer for Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End, stated that he was finally able to play the game in 60 FPS “cut scenes and all” and doing so made him a “believer.”

“Played some #TLOU at 60 fps tonight for the first time (60fps cutscenes and all). Transformitive. I’m a believer. Don’t think I can go back.”

We don’t know the exact stage of development, but with a little over a month to go until the game’s launch on the PlayStation 4, we would expect them to be finishing up things pretty soon.
