Maybe they should have released a quality game, or if there are no complaints, they should have released it in a properly polished state…
Quantum Error will be released on PlayStation 5 later this week. Since it was announced by the game’s developer, TeamKill Media, back in 2020, it was expected to be released at some point… but the team seems to have blown it. On a scale of 1-100, the average score on Metacritic is 47, and on Opencritic it’s 49, based on press reviews. So below average, lousy and, we must say, disappointing, even though it went gold in August (the master copy for the retail version was ready)…
Let’s listen to TeamKill Media’s statement on Twitter: “We are proud of our game and actually take all the criticism as a compliment to be judged against AAA budget games when we are clearly an indie with a small budget which creates limitations. For everyone who trashes us on social media or enjoys trashing us, it won’t stop us or change what we’re doing. We can’t wait for players to play Quantum Error. We are so excited that our players will finally be able to play our game and nothing will stop our excitement.
We will continue to get better and do even more with a bigger budget in the future. Negative opinions do absolutely nothing to change our determination and [the] games we’re working on. Some people won’t like our game, and that’s fine, because there are plenty of other games to choose from. We accept constructive criticism. To the players, we are not modern games, we are more old school and Quantum Error is meant to be explored and figured out on your own after the tutorials,” the studio wrote.
Quantum Error will be released on November 3 for PlayStation 5. A PC port is also in the works, and development for the Xbox Series X has been slow due to the slower SSD in Microsoft’s console. As for the studio, we appreciate that they’re not following modern fashions, but if it’s not quality, it’s just wasted effort.
