Assassin’s Creed has one major problem, mainly because of how often it gets released – annually, to be exact -, and that is the lack of innovation throughout most of the games. This is why Ubisoft tries to fix this situation in this year’s installment, Syndicate, and if we can judge by the alpha version’s footage below, we have to say that they may be successful with the renewal…
We can get rid of our enemies in new ways, which also result in new animations (which, hopefully doesn’t get shown in a terrible framerate) – we can be more efficient. We can also take control of others’ vehicles, in case we don’t want to use parkour to get to the next target. We might have some troubles with horses, so we can get rid of them… and yes, that means killing horses. We can also play around with the corpses: let’s say one fresh body is put to a wrong place – we can just pick it up again and put it elsewhere. Jacob can also use his knives in a non-lethal fashion by throwing them down as a distraction. In case Jacob dies, we’ll see some gruesome kills, and Ubisoft will force us to see them.
The end results can be seen on October 23, as that is when Assassin’s Creed: Syndicate hits PS4/Xbox One/PC.
