Street Fighter V beta: the worst way to start, ever!

Facepalm of the day! Let’s be honest, the combination of Street Fighter and the PlayStation 4 so far are pretty terrible: Ultra Street Fighter 4’s awful PlayStation 4 port and launch are now topped. Capcom aimed to restore their good name with the beta of Street Fighter V, but instead, it caused more trouble for them so far…

The PlayStation 4-exclusive multiplayer beta should have started on Thursday evening without problems. Should have, but the servers are got dead in the process and almost nobody had the chance to play for an extensive period of time. After the title screen, only various error messages awaited the players. Because of this, the producer of Street Fighter, Yoshinori Ono has said that he would reschedule the beta, but it seems the situation is about to be restored to normal – however, we’re keeping our guards high. The beta is extended out and the servers are slowly coming to life, but Capcom was supposed to test the netcode, as THIS is the reason why they put the beta together. We’ll see how it turns out in the end…

Without problems? Really? The game is in ‘beta’ and by definition you should EXPECT problems. The SFV beta is also a true beta, not like the marketing nonsense that gamers are starting to get used to these days, which are essentially old builds of a game that we are lead to believe are in the alpha/beta stage, before going gold just a couple of weeks later.

If you want to see what games look like in a real beta, take a look at some of the games on Steam’s Early Access. Bugs, crashes, glitches, servers going up and down like a brides nightie, etc, etc. If you participate in a beta, you’re there to test and report issues to the devs, not to enjoy a flawless early look of a game.

Uhm… LOL? Maybe we COULD report problems, if AT LEAST the game could start at all? Are working for Capcom, mate? How much does they pay you?

      • Hoxton says:

Haha no mate, I’m not on Capcom’s payroll. I’m just a man trying to educate the internet one moron at a time. It seems that some cockwomble’s are beyond help, though. =(

In that case, it’s time to educate yourself, dickhead. 🙁 How about lesson 1? “When you start a beta, it should be at lest be in a PLAYABLE state!”
