GTA Online: A Long-Awaited Feature Added, but Players are Angry!

In typical Take-Two fashion, even though Rockstar has added a feature to Grand Theft Auto Online that players have been asking for for years, it hasn’t made it into the game in a way that would be beneficial to everyone.

 

Grand Theft Auto Online’s latest event is called Bottom Dollar Bounties, and it gives you a taste of what life is like for Dog the Bounty Hunter in Los Santos. The Vinewood Club app has also appeared in the game’s mobile app, and this is what angered the public. The app allows you to request vehicles, collect money from the vaults of businesses you own, and replenish your ammo supply. In GTA Online, it has always been inconvenient to collect money from our businesses.

What is the problem with that? There’s a reason we wrote in the beginning that this was “typical Take-Two”: they put this application behind a paywall! Only GTA+ subscribers can access it, and that’s $8/month. We quote just one comment from Reddit, from Select_Ad3588: “From day one, there were concerns that GTA+ would start blocking really good features from non-subscribing players. The car dealership and shit was already stretching it, but now to include a QoL update behind a f__king paywall? It’s really sad and makes me a lot more worried about GTA 6 Online. So many players requested this feature, yeah they’re “listening to our feedback” and figuring out how to monetize it. One of the slimiest things they’ve done in a long time.

And it really is amazing that a game that has been on the market for over a decade has been expanded like this. Is Take-Two really so money hungry that they have to hide a quality of life feature behind $8 a month? Virtually no one on Reddit has reacted positively to the news. What’s even more ridiculous is that it doesn’t exist on PC! Rockstar and Take-Two don’t give a damn about PC. Here, Grand Theft Auto Online is on par with the PlayStation 4/Xbox One pairing, so GTA+ is only available on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series.

Grand Theft Auto Online generates $500 million a year for Take-Two. And it seems that’s not enough for them.
