NetEase’s Overwatch rival will not reward players who perform and score well enough in Marvel Rivals to reach gold rank.
The hero shooter genre game (different characters with different individual abilities) is currently available in a closed beta that started on July 23 and will run until August 5. Many of the cosmetic items opened during this period will also be available in the full version, but there will be a few exceptions to reward early players for investing a few (?) hours in Marvel Rivals from the start.
NO WAY I HIT GOLD FOR A SPRAY 😭

However, those who play the competitive mode will be able to reach higher ranks thanks to their good performance. One such achievement is the Gold Rank, and NetEase rewards this as well. In this case, the reward is Tooth and Hammer spray. And this is what the public doesn’t like. That’s what they’re complaining about on Reddit, that you didn’t play enough to get your eyes gouged out with some damn spray. However, there are some players who have decided to leave the competitive mode behind and just play Quick Matches because they find them more fun…
NetEase did manage to get some attention with another cosmetic item, as the Cyan Clash costume for Venom wasn’t that bad. But to get it, you have to participate in the Marvel Rivals event, which is currently running, to earn XP. Many people prefer hero skins to sprays because sprays require more work to use, while skins are instantly visible to everyone.
Marvel Rivals on Steam had over 52,000 concurrent players on Steam on its first day. Players liked the art direction and good controls the most, beyond the quick matches, but many are worried about how it can compete in the long run. We’ll see eventually.
