Since the PlayStation Now closed-beta began and partakers were asked to actually pay for rent most of the games, there has been a lot of turmoil about the exorbitant prices set by the publishers. Even the open beta has some excessive prices with games like F1 2013 and NASCAR ’14 which costs from $5.99 to $49.99 for a 4 hour or 90 days rental. Sony stated they paid attention to the feedback from the closed beta and it looks like it’s been true.
A Reddit user who took part in the closed beta displayed an email he received from Sony, which was thanking him for his feedback during the beta and notified him that prices for “some 4-hour rentals” will be dropped within the next few weeks. How much will they drop? Well, Sony specified that some of the games will be available to rent for as low as $1.99 instead of $2.99 as they are right now.
While for some this might not be enough to convince them of the worth of PlayStation Now, it not only shows that Sony is willing to listen to our feedback, but that your voice matters. If you’re really outraged by the prices of PlayStation Now, share it on Facebook or Twitter and try to even contact your favorite publishers.
