Diablo 3 is due out on the PlayStation 4 in August 19, and when it is released, Europeans will have to use quite a bit more of their precious Internet traffic to download the full software.
The reason behind that is the European version of Diablo 3 on the PlayStation 4 being a huge 58 GB download, compared to just 26 GB for North America. Why this huge size needs to be installed? Because the game needs all the European language packs for the many different countries.
Diablo 3: Reaper of Souls – Ultimate Evil Edition, as it is officially called, will take up 38 GB in Europe with the English, German, French, Italian, and Spanish languages. Add another 20 GB for the Russian and Polish language options, and you have what is possibly the “biggest” game in history – in size that is.
That is, if you want the “complete package”. Blizzard says that they expect players to only download the game with the “base” languages, which clocks in at 38 GB. This means that some of the other language packs won’t have to be downloaded. Like Russian and Polish, which take up 10 GB each. However, if you happen to be Russian and you want the game in your language, get ready to do a little cleanup on your PS4 harddrive.
Diablo 3 has been a massive success for Blizzard, having sold over 20 million copies since it was released back in 2012. The game has received several expansions as well — most of which are included in the PlayStation 4 version.
Diablo 3: Reaper of Souls – Ultimate Evil Edition will be released on the PlayStation 4 on August 19th.
