It appears that the last days of 2014 are going to be kind of hard for PS4 gamers. Not only the PlayStation Network has gone offline for several days, now hacker group Anonymous has distributed a collection of 13,000 usernames, passwords, and credit card numbers. Some of those are PSN usernames and passwords.
Those 13,000 accounts and credit cards numbers covers several types of online services, from the PlayStation Network, to EA, Ubisoft, Amazon, Walmart, and others. The data has been posted in a text file on Ghostbin, and no, we won’t share it.
We’ve examined the data leaked by Anonymous, and there appeared to be only a few dozen PSN usernames and passwords. The rest of the 13,000 accounts are for the other online services. At this point, you probably don’t need to worry — as we’re sure that Sony has looked at the list and notified those affected.
Anonymous isn’t known for this sort of hacking and leaking of information — most of the time the group is focused on “hactivism”, going after groups such as the KKK. However, Anonymous doesn’t have any centralized leadership — its members can do pretty much whatever they want.
