As Milestone don’t think that it’s possible to achieve their targets in their development of their game, they have decided to postpone the game’s release. That is press talk, but let’s actually look behind their announcement…
In our opinion, the 2016 release has more than meets the eye. It’s likely that Codemasters’ DiRT Rally (which is an excellent game so far!) will hit the road later this year, plus WRC-5 is also going to be released in 2015. They are probably scared that Sebastian Loeb Rally PS4 will not receive much attention. Maybe next year?
We’re also eager to find out what they pull off in the end. We’re not hopeful: they already lost the WRC license, which can be a reason to be on the bench about SLRE. The late Colin McRae’s and Richard Burns’ games’ quality will be hard to reach for them – especially Richard Burns Rally’s physics will be almost nigh impossible for them to recreate.
This is the first gameplay trailer from the game, but we don’t see much actual gameplay – the few seconds in it is without the HUD, and it doesn’t look much different from WRC 4, which is… frightening.
