When we first discusssed about Sony‘s upcoming mini projector to the PlayStation 4, we didn’t really know everything about it. This situation have changed since and we’ve been really thinking about the MPCL1 (this is the projector’s name actually).
The most important thing we would like to mention is the pricing. The MPCL1 costs 350 dollars. The PlayStation 4 is 400 bucks. Therefore, the projector is almost costing as much as the console itself! That’s really pricy in our opinion, and it’d probably be a wise idea to spend a bit more and instead, get a full HD projector, as the MPCL1 is only capable of a 1920×720 resolution.
The other factor is the brightness: just 32 lumens, which isn’t really much, but then again, going by the size, it’d never be able to push a thousand lumen, however, getting a hundred would be a possible thing. 1000 lumen is impossible.
We can’t skip the fact that it’s compact and small projector though, so it could be a decent solution for those who lack space and a television at the same time while owning a PlayStation 4. It’s going to be out around October.
There are way better small projectors out there that can do more than the one Sony is pushing out. 32 Lumens for game play would also be crap considering you have to sit in total darkness for it to be effective.
I would suggest some like this from AAXA that’s in the same price range and has more features.
