This is not a typo, Sony is actually looking for betatesters for the latest, big firmware upgrade (the 3.0) of the
PlayStation 4. It is going to be a be a bigger update than the recent ones were (we wrote about it earlier here – direct streaming to YouTube might be one of the interesting points of it), and anyone can participate in this process.
What is needed to take part in this betatesting? It’s quite obvious, but you need to have a PS4, an internet connection and you also have to have a master account on the console. Not huge requirements. You can register on the following site: LINK
What if there’s some issues with the firmware? (This is likely, because the testing is for this purpose in order to not have bigger problems in the final one, or to avoid it happening way too often.) You can easily revert to earlier, stable firmwares at any time.
The betatesting is going to start on September 2 – so we were somewhat close with our release predictions -, but seeing that Sony is only looking for a limited amount of testers, perhaps it would be a good idea to register as soon as possible. It’s worth giving it a shot, isn’t it?
If they will pay for testing…maybe…:)
