Media Molecule’s been developing on the PlayStation Vita earlier: the developers of LittleBigPlanet has pushed Tearaway out on the handheld in 2013, and it became a huge success… but seeing that not many devs have been working on games for the powerful handheld, it’s slowly, but steadily getting left behind, except in Japan. But, Media Molecule has ported Tearaway over to the PlayStation 4, dubbing it Tearaway Unfolded. The game received a TV advert, which presents the game in a perfect fashion, although it lacks the Companion App – it allows another person to join in the game with a Vita, or a smartphone -, but nothing is ever perfect…
The ad is great (even the comments point it out under the video), and the game itself is still enjoyable. It was released in the United States today, and it will be followed by the EU release tomorrow and the UK launch on Friday, respectively. Tearaway Unfolded is available on Blu-ray format too, and seeing how it has the storyline expanded, perhaps it’s a reason for the original game’s owners to pick it up again. However, seeing that the launch occured a week after Mad Max and Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, it’s a bit… unlucky.
