SPOTIFY – We are coming to you live from the Spotify toplist, and not just with any band, but a girl band! Where else they could have started their career but in X-Factor. The band was formed in 2011 with the objective to finish as first in the competition. Their goal was sort of reached, as they became one of the best in that year. Which is not a small thing.

 

Thanks to Simon Cowell’s studio, once the competition ended, the first single was released which was their winning song – Damien Rice’s Cannonball. Luckily their career did not end after X-Factor unlike their rivals careers. In 2012 their first album was released, called DNA, and was well received by the audience, and became the fourth on the Billboard 200 list. They were the first girl band since Pussy Cat Dolls to reach such a position on the chart. Their sales were also better, and broke the old record held by the 1996 Spice Girls debut album Spice.

Just like that

After DNA the fans did not have to wait for too long for new material, and their second album Salute was released, and was almost the same in terms of success when compared to the first album. It opened sixth on the Billboard list, and personally for me this is enough to label an album a success. Of course life did not stop between the albums, and the girls released many singles, just like Black Magic which is on the top of Spotify chats.. Why ? Because it is hot like chili!

The girl’s voices are still great, the lyrics are smashing, although there is not too much “meaning” behind the songs, but it is still okay. The songs are great in tempo and rhythm is also great, and never steps away from the original style of Little Mix. Luckily the band members did not go on a world changing feminist crusade. Unlike the Fifth Harmony girls, Little Mix is for the crowd entirely, and not for a cause.

In sync

As in quality, the girls are also spectacular and do not let us down. The sync is there within the band members and it seems in this album it is the best. They know each other better, their strength and their weaknesses, so the production is top-notch here, as all of them have grown over the past few years. The sync is great, and allows for the creation of frenetic songs, which are always at the top of the charts. That is their secret to success, complete sync, which many bands actually demand.

Get Weird

Currently only Black Magic is on the table for the girls, but we definitely can expect a third album this November, which will be called Get Weird. If they are able to bring the same quality of production just like in Black Magic, then we will be glad to listen to their latest work. A key fact is that there was only one year difference between the first two albums, however between the second and third there is a two year production time. Let us just hope that the extra year means we’ll get a higher quality product, not that there were issues within the band. We’ll find it this November.
