Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain: PS4 games or Xbox One games rules in Japan?

With the sales of Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain it became undeniable, that PS4 games rules in Japan. 175x more interest. No exaggaration, this is how many times of Hideo Kojima’s game, Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain’s PlayStation 4 port got sold in comparison to the Xbox One’s. Microsoft’s current gen console has had its worst start in Japan (worse than the 360 and the original Xbox!), and it only managed to sell two thousand copies of MGS V on ths console. Meanwhile, the PlayStation 4, which keeps on romping away with its PS4 games, picked up 350 thousand sales.

This is – simply put – an extremely huge difference between the two current gen ports. It’s almost pointless for Microsoft to even be in Japan – unless there’s going to be an Xbox One-exclusive, developed-in-Japan title, they might have some chance, but Scalebound by PlatinumGames is at least a single year away from being released, and that’s a lot of time.

So going by Media Creates’ data, we can say that the Xbox One has no chance in Japan, as the PlayStation 4, PS4 games  and the Wii U are still on top in the country (even Nintendo’s console have great results), and even the PlayStation Vita performs nicely, which isn’t the case outside Japan though…

Still, she likes puzzle and story-oriented games, like Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishments, which is her favourite title. She also played The Sims 3, but after accidentally killing a whole sim family, swore not to play it again. (For our office address, email and phone number check out our IMPRESSUM)
