Jason Voorhees is a popular character, and not just because his appearance as a DLC character in Mortal Kombat X earlier this year. In fact, he is about to get his own game, which might be good for horror fans and players alike. Gun Media and Illfonic have put Friday the 13th: The Game on Kickstarter with a 700K dollar target, but with 29 days remaining, they already have 328 thousand at the time of writing this news article, which is not too shabby!
The game would be a bit different though: one player would control Jason, while the other seven would be the survivors around Crystal Lake. This entire project is an evolution of Slasher Vol. 1: Summer Camp – it got redesigned after Sean Cunningham, the creator of the franchise has contacted the developers. The game will use Unreal Engine 4 and it looks quite good already: if the campaign goes quite far, the game will have a single player mode in it! By the way, wow, the game is marketed with blood! There should be a lot of that, shouldn’t be?
The Friday the 13th game release date is planned to be in October 2016 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
