Vivendi raised their stakes in Ubisoft and Gameloft

Vivendi is really moving around yet again. They quit out of Activision Blizzard two years ago, and that giant corporation was essentially formed by them. It wasn’t even a month ago, when Vivendi bought stakes in fellow French companies Ubisoft and Gameloft, they now raised it up to 10.39 and 10.2 percent, respectively. Their statement points out that they acted on this alone, and they are reserving the right to raise their stakes in the two companies highter in the future.

That pretty much means one thing: they will most likely going to bring the two companies together under one umbrella, just like how they did with Activision and Blizzard earlier. Eventually, we might see the birth of this one giant French corporation, although we can’t even guess what its name might be. Ubisoft Vivendi?

If they get the games to have higher quality on both companies’ end due to a higher budget, we can be the winners of this transaction. However, this also shows how Vivendi‘s history repeats itself down to a T…
