Sony Computer Entertainment decided to flip the ordinary, annoying advertisements and instead, they went for a different approach for their next PlayStation 4 commercial. True, this is way different than the most of the things we have seen about the console, but it is nice to see something else for a change.
An invitation for a FIFA (or PES?) match comes on mobile, there is a PlayStation F.C. flag and scarf on the wall. We can see several PlayStation-related posters as well, a retina/facial scanner for a ridiculously huge wardrobe with tons of costumes. There’s a nod towards Gran Turismo, here’s another one aimed at Destiny, while the Michael Jackson-styled choreography dance is going on. Running on the wall a la Call of Duty, and so forth. We don’t want to spoil everything for you, but there are several nods towards games in just sixty seconds, mainly at Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End.
That’s showing one of the weak points for the PS4: let’s see this ad again next year when more exclusives will be out! Sony hasn’t made a crazy ad like this in a long time – not including the Japanese TGS ads! -, so keep doing this!
