Nowadays, it’s a common trend to have wireless controllers, which are powered by built-in batteries to make them work. There can be problems with this, though – although this kind of malfunction is unexpected, even though it is spectacular in a sense.
A Reddit user named Chino1130 uploaded an image of his DualShock 4. He was playing Grand Theft Auto Online peacefully, when all of a sudden, his controller started to blow smoke out of itself, and not because of pressing buttons in an inhumane speed either! He then dismantled his DualShock 4 and found the culprit: it turned out to be his battery, which ended up burning through the plastic board between the battery and the controller‘s logic board. Sure, you might say that it’s a third-party battery, but it isn’t, so you can’t blame it on a low-quality, no-name product.
What’s the moral of this story? What can go wrong, will go wrong in the end. Will Sony send this user a replacement, or will they completely ignore this event?
