We wrote about a non-official Remote Play solution a few days ago, which would allow the player to stream his PlayStation 4 games to PC with a non-Android way. We also wrote that Sony is very likely going to take notice of this developer. It happened, but in a different way than we thought it would.
Shuhei Yoshida, SCE Worldwide’s president, announced on his Twitter that Sony is indeed working on a Remote Play solution for both the PC and the Mac! No other details were mentioned. Think about it, though: was the timing just pure coincidence? We don’t think so. At least Sony might try to get some more money out of this situation, while helping people that prefer playing on the PC, or with PC peripherals.
We’re happy to see this happening – maybe the already hugely successful PlayStation 4, which just broke the 30-million barrier could get even more sales on the table with this solution. Can’t wait to hear more about the official PC Remote Play, Sony!
Some people asked if we plan to provide Remote Play function to PC, and yes, we are indeed working on an official application for PC/Mac. 😀
