Resident Evil 2 Remake: Let’s clear the confusion up

Seeing the success of the remastered edition of the first Resident Evil, Capcom continues with 0, which was originally developed for the N64 and eventually ending up on the GC. Meanwhile, 6 and 2 are also receiving a facelift. 2’s new edition was announced by Capcom a while ago, but we weren’t sure about what it’s going to be. A remake? A remaster? We got answers.

We also wrote about how Invaders Games – who were working on an Unreal Engine 4 remake themselves until Capcom‘s announcement – visited them to see how they fared so far with the remake, but they didn’t say anything new about RE2. The confusion was mainly because of Capcom’s Q2 2015 financial report because they called Resident Evil 2 a „remaster.” So what is this going to be? According to Stuart Turner, a Capcom-employee, it was just a mistranslation; Resident Evil 2 Remake will be made from the ground up and not be just a simple HD remaster.

We are worried about RE2 turning into an action game. Please avoid making the gameplay like RE5’s, or we will not tolerate the game.
