So far, we have seen several details of the fracture between Hideo Kojima and Konami: here’s one comment from the Japanese company, there’s a lie, here’s a ban from The Game Awards and so forth. We can now officially leave this nightmare all behind us. Kojima‘s Konami-decades are now OVER!
Sony announced this morning that a change is happening shortly. Sony Computer Entertainment boss Andrew House – whose Japanese is very fluent, great job – detailed the situation in a short video with none other than Hideo Kojima himself. The Japanese genius got under the wings of Sony, and he’s forming a team around him. It’s going to be called… Kojima Productions. Yeah, the name is the same, but the new logo is amazing.
The modern space suit has an old skeleton in it: it perfectly shows us the past, the present, and the future as well. A lot of people celebrated Kojima‘s move, and they also began to think if he can make Guillermo del Toro and Norman Reedus return to work with him on a new game. Of course, it can’t be called Silent Hills, unless Sony manages to buy the rights and licenses from Konami. (We’d appreciate a Zone of Enders as well!)
After all this, are we surprised that Shuhei Yoshida, SCE Worldwide’s boss thinks that 2016 will be incredible for PlayStation? Not at all! Street Fighter 5, Nioh, Uncharted 4, Gravity Rush and who knows what else are in store for the PlayStation 4.
We’re happy to see Hideo Kojima joining Sony. „What took you so long?”
