The Banner Saga has taken a long road to get finally close to the consoles. So far, we had no idea about when the PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One is going to get this game. According to the devs (Stoic), it was a huge task for them to modify the original PC game to run it on consoles, despite having been in development for quite some time now.
Some aspects of the game had to be completely rewritten – for example; the controls needed a start from the scratch. After all, you can play PS4 games with a DualShock 4 and not a mouse/keyboard duo.
The Vikings’ story (which seem to be inspired by Eyvind Earle) will be available on consoles very shortly. As the trailer shows, it’s going to drop on the PS4/XB1 duo on January 12. Stoic plans a PS Vita port too, but it’s been postponed indefinitely.
Too bad, hopefully, this version will not be deleted! Let’s hope they don’t have to rewrite the entire game again for Sony‘s handheld.
