Shadow of the Beast – released in 1989 – was an excellent side-scrolling game with great graphics and a nice soundtrack composed by David Whittaker. Reflection‘s game is going to revive on the PlayStation 4, but we have to add the fact that the remake was announced on 2013’s Gamescom, so quite a lot of time has passed since then! There was a release date for the remake, but Heavy Spectrum Entertainment Labs cannot finish the game by that point.
Shadow of the Beast‘s PS4-exclusive remake was set to launch on January 26 – the delay pushed it back to March 2. Seeing how it was announced over two and a half years ago, this extra month of wait can’t be that big of a deal. Matt Birch (the CEO of HSEL) said in March 2014 that the art and the audio aspect is very important for the devs – they don’t want to disappoint us with these.
As a reminder, check out the 2015 E3’s trailer below. It’s going to be quite brutal, but Aarbron – the protagonist – got QTEs in the modernized game. Hopefully, this isn’t going to affect the gameplay negatively.
