Sony is still just lurking around with the PlayStation VR, although their approach to the upcoming device starts to make sense. Perhaps this is the time when they will finally make the step a lot of people have been waiting for?
There’s going to be a PlayStation VR conference held in San Francisco at the Game Developers Conference on March 15. The event will start at 2 PM Pacific Time, and there’s also going to be hands-on demos for attendees until 6 PM. Why the GDC all of a sudden?
Outside Sony seeing the PSVR as the future (partially), remember the events of the past few weeks. First, the Oculus Rift pricing was announced (600 US Dollars), followed by the recent HTC Vive price announcement (800 US Dollars!) and Sony seemingly wanted to be the last. They might just reveal their launch plans (pricing and release date) during the GDC after playing a poker face for the past months. We now finally understand the Japanese company’s approach…
