Sony’s reaction to the cross-network multiplayer revelation from Microsoft!

This week started out quite strongly with Microsoft‘s announcement, saying that the Xbox Live is effectively opening up to other platforms, making players able to play together, regardless of their selected console/PC. Sony was silent about this topic – until now.

Their statement is promising, but it also dodges the chance to answer directly to the question we all wanted to know. Their statement is the following: „PlayStation has been supporting cross-platform play between PC on several software titles starting with Final Fantasy XI on PS2 and PC back in 2002. We would be happy to have the conversation with any publishers or developers who are interested in cross-platform play.”

While they do have a point that they had cross-platform almost one and a half decade ago with FFXI, they don’t seem to be too cooperative about Microsoft‘s idea. Meanwhile, we have the opportunity to set up matches in our PS4s against players on Steam (like in Street Fighter V, for example)…

Still, she likes puzzle and story-oriented games, like Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishments, which is her favourite title. She also played The Sims 3, but after accidentally killing a whole sim family, swore not to play it again. (For our office address, email and phone number check out our IMPRESSUM)
