Remember when Metro 2033 film adaptation was announced? It happened back in 2012’s autumn! Metro 2033 was originally a sci-fi novel written by Dmitry Glukhovsky and it was turned into a decent FPS, also receiving a sequel with the subtitle Last Light. Since the announcement, we barely heard a thing about the movie. At least, it got confirmed that it’s still in production!
A veteran producer, Michael De Luca (50 Shades of Grey, Moneyball) joined the project, which is led by Stephen L’Heureux (Sin City: A Dame to Kill For) and Glukhovsky. Back in 2012, Newcomer Scott F. Frazier, the upcoming 2017 xXx movie’s scriptwriter, was mentioned as the person responsible for the script. Back then, another person was brought up as producer: Mark Johnson (Rain Man, Chronicles of Narnia) via Gran Via Productions. However, these guys’ involvement aren’t confirmed to be still active.
No information is known about the staff or even a release window… although seeing how almost four years have passed since the announcement, something should be done for the movie already. When is it going to be done?
