Half a Million Gamers Played Firewatch!

Despite being an indie title with a small budget, Campo Santo‘s Firewatch became a success. It has decent sales just one month after its launch on PlayStation 4, Mac and PC. The details were announced by the publisher of the game, Panic.

Panic was happy to announce that the game sold half a million copies. With its 20-dollar price tag, obviously, you can count the revenue it generated: 10 million dollars in just a month is not bad, especially if we consider that the publisher’s investment got recouped in just ONE day!

Firewatch was also the best-selling game on PlayStation Network in February, defeating such games as Far Cry Primal or Street Fighter V – both games had a much higher budget than Campo Santo.

We also took our time to take a look at Firewatch in our review. Thankfully, the PlayStation 4 version’s framerate, which was choppy, was mostly fixed by a performance patch. Henry and his story also resulted in 214802 taken photos in-game. That means almost two pictures per sold copy!

Still, she likes puzzle and story-oriented games, like Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishments, which is her favourite title. She also played The Sims 3, but after accidentally killing a whole sim family, swore not to play it again. (For our office address, email and phone number check out our IMPRESSUM)
