MOVIE NEWS – True World of Warcraft fans won’t ever forget the good old The Lion’s Pride Inn, where we wasted so much time in the MMORPG game. Now, director Duncan Jones (the late David Bowie’s son) faithfully recreated the famous inn as we can see it in the behind-the-scenes preview of the Warcraft adaptation – as originally seen in the video game!
Warcraft will be out in the theaters this summer as the Orcs and Humans fight each other for the realm of Azeroth in Warcraft. The war starts in international territories on May 25 before arriving in U.S. theaters on June 10. To celebrate the imminent release, Legendary Pictures, and Universal Pictures have published a brand new behind-the-scenes trailer that shows Lion’s Pride Inn, one of the most recognizable places in World of Warcraft!
Robert Kazinsky (who will play Orgrim, the Orc leader in the film), is here to give us a tour of this iconic establishment. He reveals all the intimate detail that went into creating something that looked like it fell right out of the hugely popular World of Warcraft, upon which the movie is based. The new footage is also showing some of the human actors working on the set. This follows the big debut of the full-length trailer that dropped last week. The Warcraft movie may be one of this summer’s biggest hits when it will be out in theaters on May 25/June 10.
This fantasy adventure is situated in the realm of Azeroth, in which has peace reigned for hundreds of years. Now this magical land stands on the brink of war as its civilization faces a fearsome race of invaders. Orc warriors are fleeing their dying home to colonize another.
As a portal opens to connect the two worlds, one army faces destruction and the other faces extinction. From opposing sides, two heroes are set on a collision course that will decide the fate of their family, their people, and their home. So begins a spectacular saga of power and sacrifice in which war has many faces, and everyone fights for something.
The Warcraft movie will star Travis Fimmel, Dominic Cooper, Ben Foster, Paula Patton, Toby Kebbell, Ben Schnetzer, Robert Kazinsky and Daniel Wu. This action movie is directed by Duncan Jones from a script he co-wrote with Charles Leavitt. Warcraft is a Legendary Pictures, Blizzard Entertainment, and Atlas Entertainment production.
Warcraft is produced by Charles Roven, Thomas Tull, Jon Jashni, Alex Gartner and Stuart Fenegan. Jillian Share, Brent O’Connor, Michael Morhaime and Paul Sams serve as executive producers. Rob Pardo, Chris Metzen, Nick Carpenter and Rebecca Steel Roven co-produce. Warcraft will go up against a pair of sequels on June 10, Lionsgate’s Now You See Me 2 and Warner Bros.’ The Conjuring 2.
Warcraft could be just the second video game movie ever to break the $100 million milestones at the domestic box office, following Lara Croft: Tomb Raider, which earned $131.1 million back in 2001. Will this be the movie that finally makes video game adaptations a hit at the box office? Take a look at the new Warcraft behind-the-scenes featurette, and stay tuned for more on this epic video game adventure.
