This Came As a Slap in the Face For the Fans! Tekken X Street Fighter Is On Hold!

In 2010, Namco and Capcom teamed up to announce their adaptation of letting the Tekken and Street Fighter universes’ fighters go up against each other. Meanwhile, Capcom released their SFIV-engine Street Fighter X Tekken in 2012, but what about Namco‘s Tekken-engine 3D fighter Tekken X Street Fighter? It’s not coming soon.

Katsuhiro Harada, the Tekken-boss has had an interview with Gamespot. In it, he said the following: „When we develop fighting games, we try to keep the core community in mind as well as the wider audience that wants to play these games. Currently, the situation is with fighting games, you have Street Fighter V that just released – a lot of people are playing that fervently – and there’s a large crowd out there waiting or Tekken 7. We don’t want to split these communities, so a good window in which to release Tekken x Street Fighter is something that’s become difficult recently. So it’s on hold for the moment.”

In 2013, he said that the game was still in development, but at this rate, we would be surprised to see Tekken X Street Fighter completed in 2018, but then, what platforms would it be on? PS3 and X360…?
