MOVIE NEWS – No! It’s just inhuman for the fans of Inhumans! When Marvel announced their massive Phase Three line-up in 2014, the last movie scheduled for release was Inhumans, with a July 12, 2019 date, which was just a few months after Avengers: Infinity War Part II of May 3, 2019. Since deep silence on the project: the studio hasn’t neither announced a director, screenwriter or any cast members for the movie.
This month already, not so long ago, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige talked about the film is moving to a later date. It is now confirmed, as the studio has pulled Inhumans from its July 12, 2019, date. They haven’t supplied a new release date for the project yet, which means, that it’s delayed indefinitely.
Inhumans is currently listed as TBA on Box Office Mojo’s, but it will probably debut at some point during Marvel Phase Four. The studio has already set some release dates for Phase Four movies on May 1, 2020, July 10, 2020, and November 6, 2020, so it’s likely that Inhumans could take one of those dates. Kevin Feige gave a statement to journalists in an interview last week when they questioned him about the possibility of Inhumans getting postponed.
“Since we made our initial phase three announcement, we added Spider-Man, which was a huge, wonderful coup for us. We added Ant-Man and the Wasp, which was a big fun continuation of that story for us. Walt Disney Company has announced an Indiana Jones film for right around that same time. So I think it will shuffle off the current date that it’s on right now. How far down it shuffles, I’m not sure yet.”
The first publication of Inhumans on the pages of Marvel comic books was back as far as 1965. The main story was about a royal family of superbeings ruled over by their silent king Black Bolt, whose voice can level cities.
Vin Diesel was supposed to play the role of this mute character in the flesh while he voices Groot in the Guardians of the Galaxy franchise. The young members of the Inhumans family get their power from swallowing Terrigen Mists, an idea which was introduced and elaborated in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
Clark Gregg, the star of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. star, told in January that he doesn’t believe that his show’s Inhumans storyline will crossover with the Inhumans movie. Nonetheless, the show would have to make it to Season 7 for any viable crossover to make sense, since the Inhumans movie was originally set to debut in Season 6 and Season 7, and now it will debut even later. However, a lot can happen between now and Phase Four, so lets wait for further developments.
