UPDATE: Fortunately, XCOM 2 isn’t staying PC-exclusive, so those who own a PlayStation 4 or an Xbox One will also be able to fight the Advent. However, the game will not launch at its originally planned time!
The new release date is three weeks after the original September 6 day so that you can grab XCOM 2 on consoles from September 27. The port work was handled by Firaxis Games and The Workshop.
Hopefully, the console version will be as good as the PC original was!
ORIGINAL: Firaxis isn’t leaving XCOM 2 as a PC-exclusive: they announced that the game is getting a PlayStation 4/Xbox One port!
The Workshop is working on the console port, which isn’t going to be a full-priced title upon release. XCOM 2 arrives on September 6 in North America, and September 9 in Europe for 50 dollars/euros. The Vigilo Confido‘s battle against the ADVENT might be a little delayed after the PC launch, but at least the price is lowered; a fair deal, isn’t it? You can already pre-order XCOM 2, plus there’s also going to be a Digital Deluxe Edition, which will net you the base game and the Season Pass as well.
We hope that XCOM 2‘s console port won’t be terrible. Recently, we have seen an example of how a decent game on PC can become nigh unplayable on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One due to having terrible frame-rate.
