Street Fighter V still hasn’t been able to hit the two million sales mark, but instead, another game has performed surprisingly well for Capcom.
Capcom published their Q1 2016 figures, which are mostly showing year-on-year losses. The consolidated net sales were ¥10,927,000,000, a bit over $107,000,000 at current exchange rates. The operating loss was ¥726,000,000 (around $7,100,000), and they also lost ¥2,080,000,000 (about $20,000,000) due to changes in the exchange rate for the Yen. The Yen’s value has raised since the British referendum to leave the European Union and resulted in a dip in the Japanese Stock Market.
Resident Evil sold between 800K-1.1M in the April-June timeframe, which is a decent result. Ace Attorney: Spirit of Justice also performed well with its 200K+ sales. However, Street Fighter V had less than a hundred thousand sales, as the PS4/PC fighting game is still at 1.4 million sales.
Still, the arcade and the Pachinko/Pachislo results don’t make Capcom’s situation a red alert. They also work on the current-gen ports of Dead Rising games, with Dead Rising 4, as well as Resident Evil 7 are also in development.
