QuakeCon is happening as of right now, and it’s the perfect time to reveal more of the new Quake title.
It turned out that Quake Champions is being developed as a PC-exclusive, but seeing how ALL previous Quake games ended up on consoles (in fact, III Arena Revolution on the PS2 even had a story!), perhaps id Software and Saber Interactive will port this game to the PS4 and X1.
The game will have four classes, so in case you hoped to have all characters to be equal as they were in Quake III Arena, you might be disappointed. One of the classes will be heavy, so expect the usual here – see more in the second trailer. At least Quake Champions looks and plays similar to the older games – take a look at the first video.
Quake Champions enters closed beta in early 2017, so there’s still a lot of time until the game launches. The last new Quake game (not including Quake Live) is Enemy Territory: Quake Wars from 2007.
