Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night will not be out in 2017 – instead, the game will be available in 2018.

The game, which became one of the highest funded games on Kickstarter has received an update on the community backing-based website saying that the game is delayed. Koji „IGA” Igarashi, one of the key producers of the Castlevania franchise, has explained his decision with the following quote: „I apologize for the wait. However, I’d like to emphasize that I made this decision to absolutely guarantee the game is done right the first time. The last thing I want to do is keep our backers waiting, but after receiving such incredible support, I feel responsible for delivering the best product I possibly can. Again, I offer my sincerest apologies.”

He will get more developers on board to reach the quality standards. Let’s hope Bloodstained doesn’t end up like how Mighty No. 9 did!
