While our goal is not using our enemies as toilets (even though that would be a funny thing to watch), we’ll still be able to control a pigeon in Battlefield 1.
In the Through Mud and Blood mission, which is playable for EA/Origin Access members on PC and Xbox One, a war pigeon plays a role. In World War I, pigeons were often used to send messages, making DICE’s decision plausible to include them in Battlefield 1.
While taking control of the pigeon, we have to fly through rings. (Sonic 06, Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 5, and Superman 64 all had those rings, and they all flopped… although Crash Bandicoot: Warped did not.) It is a creative idea from DICE because it breaks up the constant weapon usage throughout the campaign.
Battlefield 1 is out October 18 for Deluxe Edition owners, and October 21 for everyone else on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
