Yesterday’s DDoS attacks almost ruined the happy couple’s event.
Rami Ismail (Nuclear Throne) and Adriel Wallick (Fire Hose Games) chose a different way of engaging each other. Wallick asked about marriage in Destiny, and Bungie, the developers, offered a helping hand.
First off, Bungie created a custom emote which allowed MsMinotaur to be on one knee. Then, they also made an item called Ring of Eternity. The topping on the cake was the postmaster, where a letter asked about the marriage. The result? Positive!
Ismail thanked the help of Bungie, especially Poria Torkan, the marketing producer, who „somehow managed to convince an entire team at Bungie to dedicate time and effort to such a dorky proposal.”
Game developers are humans as well (Ismail and Wallick are both game devs, too) – we had seen something similar in Valve’s Team Fortress four years ago, and BioWare also helped a couple two years ago.
This was the thing I did today https://t.co/cyrHZX1OpS
