The Last Guardian‘s main development is complete, so it’s going to be available shortly.
Shuhei Yoshida, the PlayStation-boss tweeted the following: „I’ve waited a very long time to say this… The Last Guardian has gone gold! I’m so excited for you all to finally experience it.” „Gone gold” in this case means that the master disc for mass production is completed so that the manufacturers can create the retail version of The Last Guardian.
The developers can’t take a rest yet, though: there will probably be a day-1 patch, and DLCs could also play a role in working on a game a little bit more.
Fumito Ueda might make it a three out of three: ICO and Shadow of the Colossus were both amazing games, making him a respectable game developer. Hopefully, skipping out on the PS3 (the two games were re-released on that platform), and moving The Last Guardian over to the PS4 won’t show its negative effects on the visuals and gameplay.
We’ll see – and feel – everything on December 6.
