Do You Plan To Buy The New Call Of Duty Games From The Windows Store? Think Twice!

If you play on Windows 10 and prefer Windows Store over Steam, would you run into trouble with the new Call of Duty game(s)?

The new Windows brought in UWP, the Universal Windows Platform, which is programmed differently (not x86!), and the games available on the Windows Store are UWP-based. Because of this change, you can’t see games such as Gears of War 4 on Steam, or be available to play on Windows 8.

If you don’t plan to buy Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare or Modern Warfare Remastered via Steam, we’d like to point you towards Activision Support’s FAQ, which says that you won’t be able to play with Steam users. This limitation means that Windows Store customers will be split off from even those who say, buy the new CoD in boxed format, and still play on Windows 10.

If there were cross-play between Xbox Live and Windows 10, we’d somewhat understand the situation, but there isn’t any in the case of Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare/Modern Warfare Remastered. That can be a problem if it’s not addressed quickly…

Still, she likes puzzle and story-oriented games, like Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishments, which is her favourite title. She also played The Sims 3, but after accidentally killing a whole sim family, swore not to play it again. (For our office address, email and phone number check out our IMPRESSUM)
