On BlizzCon, Diablo III became one of the main attractions – the action-RPG, dating back to 2012, is getting expanded in multiple ways!
First off, the game will get a recurring character from Diablo II, the Necromancer. Blizzard cannot provide significant details at the moment, but the „newcomer,” balancing between the forces of life and death, will be able to explode corpses. They can also use their scythe, or their Bone Spear, Siphon Blood, Blood Rush or Summon Skeletons skills – not all Diablo II skills will be lifted over, but „a lot of inspiration” was taken from that game.
The Necromancer will be part of the Rise of the Necromancer pack, due to arrive in 2017. For PC owners, the base game and Reaper of Souls will be both required. On the PlayStation 4/Xbox One, all you need is the Ultimate Evil Edition. The price is not known at the moment.
Blizzard pulled out another surprise as part of celebrating the franchise’s twentieth anniversary: they will remake the first Diablo within Diablo III! It will contain a 16-level dungeon, the four main bosses, the classic, eight-direction control scheme, as well as a retro graphic filter in the patch called The Darkening of Tristam. It’s going to be a free upgrade!
Will Blizzard remake the second game as well?
