The Canadian Toys ‘R’ Us might have just revealed the price of the upcoming Nintendo console.
We don’t know much about the Switch – we can only guess after the reveal trailer. Aside from the „coming in March 2017” tidbit, we didn’t learn about its price either. However, this detail, along with possibly the technical specifications, will be known in two months after the Switch conference. Toys ‘R’ Us used this possibility: they listed the console for 330 dollars.
That’s in Canadian dollars – in USD, it’d be probably around 245. Rounding that up would give us the potential price of 250 bucks/250 euros. Portability and low price – these two factors might be in Nintendo‘s favor.
This potential price is seemingly followed by UK retailer GAME. According to Let’s Play Videogames, two SKUs would surface. A base model would cost 200 GBP, which would be the same price as Toys ‘R’ US’, and the second version, with more internal storage and a pack-in game, would cost 250 GBP, about 312 USD. The Pro controller might cost 40 pounds, roughly 45-50 dollars. Hmm…
Mind you, 250 is lower than 300 – the PlayStation 4 might cost more, and the Switch would get a bigger availability. We’ll learn everything in January, though. 249$ is competitive, regardless.
