Nintendo Switch: Better Performance With The Dock, GameCube Games, Dark Souls?

The Nintendo Switch got multiple rumors in just one day.

Eurogamer claims based on their sources that the Switch will be able to play GameCube games via Virtual Console. Nintendo already picked three titles: Super Mario Sunshine, Luigi’s Mansion, and fighting tournaments favorite Super Smash Bros. Melee. Animal Crossing is also under testing. If you want to move over your VC content from previous consoles, you’d have to pay only a small fee instead of rebuying the titles again. Switch‘s Virtual Console is claimed to be developed by the same team who was behind the NES mini – Nintendo‘s European Research & Development.

Let’s Play Video Games writes that if we play the Switch docked, we will get better performance. The dock doesn’t give computing power, but it allows the NVidia Tegra X1 to run at a higher clock speed, allowing the resolution to be 1080p on TV, which is unlikely in handheld form.

WCCFTech showed off the first leaked Switch accessories, and it turns out that the Nintendo console will transfer both video and power via USB-C.

MCV believes that From Software might release the Dark Souls trilogy on the Switch, especially because 3 is already running on the hardware. It might be possible, and if the devs do go through, the release might happen next summer, when Dark Souls 3 is getting re-released with all the DLCs.

Promising signs.
