The style will be similar to their previous games!
Turtle Rock Studios, who left Evolve behind just as it switched to a free-to-play model, began working on a co-op FPS in a dark fantasy setting. The studio confirmed this information, but don’t expect to see this game until 2018 or so…
In the interview with GamesIndustry, the developers said that the publisher would be Perfect World Entertainment, who is also behind Star Trek Online, Neverwinter, and a few more. (Unsurprisingly, it is the American sister company to the Chinese Perfect World.)
Turtle Rock, who don’t consider the unnamed new project as a spiritual successor to their previous games, will still consider „players come first” as a valid approach. The new, potentially free-to-play game (due to the publisher) will not have zombies, it will not have a post-apocalyptic setting, and it will use Unreal Engine (possibly 4) with the promise of „plenty of baddies to shoot up.”
Meanwhile, Take-Two considers Evolve as an important IP… what will happen to that then?
