MOVIE NEWS – While Ben Affleck only just suggested that it wasn’t set in stone, it seems he finally confirmed once and for all that he will, in fact, direct the next solo Batman movie. “Exasperated” (jokingly), he asked fans to stop asking him about.
Perhaps, because he was simply sick of the relentless questions, Ben Affleck recently told that the fact that he will direct Warner Bros.’ next solo The Batman movie wasn’t essentially a done deal.
“I’m going to direct the next Batman, we’re working on it. It’s one of those things that’s really frustrating because Live by Night took me a year and a half to write it and get it ready, and worked really hard. It’s just that nobody gave a shit, no one was like ‘Where’s Live by Night!.’ But with The Batman, I keep on getting ‘Where’s the fuck is The Batman?!’. Wow, I’m working, give me a second!”
While he was basically joking, it’s obvious that he is getting a bit frustrated with the constant Batman-related questions – so let that be the end of it! Ben Affleck is directing The Batman, and when there’s something official to report, we’ll know about it.
This caused quite a bit of buzz, and most likely led to yesterday’s rumor that the project had stalled – however, during his appearance on Jimmy Kimmel last night, Ben Affleck concisely confirmed that he would helm the film.
