The game’s director doesn’t rule out a sequel to Gravity Rush 2.
This title is the first major PlayStation 4-exclusive of 2017, and its director, Keiichiro Toyama (who previously was involved with the Siren and Silent Hill franchises) doesn’t close the plot at the end of Gravity Rush 2.
He was interviewed by Japanese magazine Famitsu, and it was translated by a Twitter user by the name of BlackKite. We learned that Toyama wants to try out new things in a potential third game, but for that, he wants to express new things on a new console. It means that there might be a Gravity Rush 3, but only on the PlayStation 5, which is still quite a few years away.
The new platform would bring in a new approach, and that means the genre would change a bit from the first two Gravity Rush installments. About 2, Toyama said there might be no need for a Day-1 patch, except if the online capabilities need them. (Remember; originally, the game would have launched in December!)
If Gravity Rush 3 gets the green flag, and it continues the improving tendency from the first two games, we will be satisfied!

@nightygale “I think the new game will have very different direction unlike anything before. I think the genre may become Action-Adventure.”

Famitsu: Is there Day-1 patch for Gravity Rush 2?
Toyama: I don’t think we need a patch, but for online we won’t know unless we open its lid pic.twitter.com/3vYNxRKA8w— 黒凧 BlackKite (@bk2128) January 17, 2017
