After yesterday’s Xbox Project Scorpio „reveal,” the green team is already attacking…
Yesterday, we wrote about how Eurogamer got a whitepaper that detailed the capabilities of the stronger Xbox console, which is slated to launch in the holiday season this year. Going by their article, we believe that the new console won’t be as powerful as Microsoft touted it.
On the NeoGAF forums, Thomas Mahler, the CEO of Moon Studios, started to post. His team was responsible for the great Ori and the Blind Forest on X1 and PC. Quoting what he said: „Microsoft will need to do a little work to make it clear to everyone that Scorpio isn’t just a half-assed upgrade (which the PS4 Pro kinda is…), but a full-blown next-gen machine that’s just backwards-compatible to your current library.”
Maybe Mahler knows something that we don’t? He might know what the stronger Xbox can do, but calling it as a next-gen machine when it doesn’t SEEM to be one seems too bold… Maybe he’s afraid of Sony’s advantage: by the end of the year, they could just chop the PlayStation 4 Pro’s price to 350 dollars/euros to stay in front…
