Nioh: PlayStation 4 vs. PlayStation 4 Pro Analysis [VIDEO]

DigitalFoundry has gone in-depth with Team Ninja‘s game on both PlayStation 4 models.

The PlayStation 4-exclusive action-RPG can run on 60FPS if we choose the Action Mode in the settings on both the ordinary PlayStation 4 and the PS4 Pro. However, the resolution will take a dip in return. The Movie Mode will limit the frame rate to 30FPS on both PlayStation 4s, but the resolution increases. The Variable Mode is the middle road between the two ends.

There are differences in the resolution, though: in the Action Mode, the PlayStation 4 Pro can go from 1080p to as low as 720p (!), while the basic PS4 caps itself at 720p for the most part. The Movie Mode’s resolution is full HD on the PS4, while the PS4 Pro hovers between 1440p and 2160p. The Variable mode’s resolution is 2304×1296 on the PlayStation 4 Pro, while unfortunately, DigitalFoundry said nothing about the resolution on the regular model.
