Sony’s network wasn’t working as intended overnight.
On Reddit , multiple users have reported that they have problems with Sony’s service. Initially, the North American region was affected, but later on, European users also joined in the downtime. As Sony didn’t plan maintenance (they did that a week ago already…), it’s possible that this error was unexpected on the „blues’” end…
A lot of players couldn’t even log in, but others have said they were encountering lesser issues, but still, 2017’s first PSN outage happened regardless.
If you remember 2016, the first months of the year always seemed to start with a hacker attack, but it seemed to stop by the Spring. Sony only acknowledged the issue on Twitter (which are now fixed), but they gave no reason why it happened. Probably they won’t do so…
