UPDATED – YouTube has cancelled YouTube personality PewDiePie’s scripted series, Scare PewDiePie, after anti-Semitic videos were published on his personal channel.
Today, YouTube issued a statement about PewDiePie’s Scare PewDiePie series, which is produced by The Walking Dead’s Robert Kirkman, on YouTube Red and its relationship going forward with the personality.
ORIGINAL STORY – “We’ve decided to cancel the release of Scare PewDiePie season 2 and we’re removing the PewDiePie channel from Google Preferred,” a YouTube spokesperson said in a statement. PewDiePie being removed from Google Preferred, an advertisement platform reserved for more notable content creators means he will lose some of its financial backing from Google, YouTube parent’s company.
Disney didn’t tolerate the antisemitic jokes, and thus, they fired Felix Kjellberg.
This name might not say a lot to you, but if we told you that he’s also known as Pewdiepie, having the account with the most YouTube subscribers, seeing him fired by Disney-owned Maker Studios makes the situation a little different.
Disney didn’t tolerate him putting up a Jesus guise and do a brief Hitler salute while saying he did nothing wrong, as well as paying two Indians to hold up a „Death to all Jews” via a crowd-sourcing website.
Felix, who earned over sixteen million dollars on YouTube last year, has admitted that he was offensive, but he is against any hateful attitudes, and he also wanted to prove what people can say for five dollars.
