Sony will limit the PlayStation Now access shortly.
The Japanese company announced on the PlayStation Blog that the service, which allows streaming PlayStation 3 games, will stop working on PlayStation 3, PlayStation Vita, PlayStation TV, Sony Bravia televisions made between 2013 and 2015, as well as all Samsung TVs and Sony Blu-ray players from August 15. The exception is the 2016 or newer Bravia TVs: these will stop supporting the PS Now from April 1.
„After thoughtful consideration, we decided to shift our focus and resources to PS4 and Windows PC to further develop and improve the user experience on these two devices. This move puts us in the best position to grow the service even further. If you use any of the above devices, we want to give our heartfelt thanks for your support, and we hope you’ll continue with us,” reads Sony’s reasoning behind the decision.
If you don’t use PS Now on PlayStation 4 or PC and don’t plan to switch to either of these platforms after the shutdown on the affected platforms, Sony recommends stopping the automatic renewal of your subscription before the support of our device stops.
